Singing Tree Rope Wrench, 11-13mm rope

The Singing Tree Wrench (STRW) is a friction device which allows a climber to ascend, descend and work on a single rope (SRT) with a friction hitch. The STRW is installed above the friction hitch in conjunction with a stiff tether. On ascent, the STRW remains in neutral gear and is tended up the rope by the stiff tether. On descent, the STRW engages with the climbing line applying controlled friction to the system, enabling the climber to descend on the hitch. The STRW allow simple re-direct and can easily be set up on multiple limbs. Friction level is adjustable for compatibility with various ropes. SRT allows 1:1 efficiency, potentially increasing speed and reducing the energy required. For use with 11 to 13mm ropes. Not for use a primary life support.
